osu! cursors
The cursor is the one skin element you look at for the entire map, and the one people most often want to change on its own. 445 of the archives we have opened ship both a custom cursor and a cursor trail — read out of the file itself, not from what the forum post claimed.
A cursor cannot be installed on its own: it lives inside a skin, as
cursor.png, cursormiddle.png and cursortrail.png.
To use one from a skin you otherwise do not want, install both, then copy those three
files across — on stable, Options → Skin → Open current skin folder puts you
in the right place.
Every skin below plays in the browser, cursor trail included, which is the only way to tell whether a trail is elegant or a smear before you commit to it.
